  1. If I change my cassette to a different one, say an , will I need to change or otherwise modify my chain? I just got the chain replaced and now it's slipping on the old cassette. I'm not the biggest fan of the mega range, so I wouldn't mind changing it out to something different.
  2. It’s also a good idea to replace your chain when you change your cassette. (Chains wear faster than your cassette, so it's likely you'll go through a couple chains before you need to replace your cassette.) Cassettes and chains need to be compatible with each other. For example, if you have a 9-speed cassette, you need a 9-speed REI Staff.
  3. Logically, the longer chain cannot cause a problem. This is because your cassette already includes an cassette inside it. The longer chain is working just fine with the which are there now. It will work exactly the same if is the entire range!
  4. The Compact Cassette or Musicassette (MC), also commonly called the cassette tape, audio cassette, or simply tape or cassette, is an analog magnetic tape recording format for audio recording and was developed by Philips in Hasselt, Belgium, and introduced in September Compact Cassettes come in two forms, either already containing content as a prerecorded cassette Developed by: Philips.
  5. Nov 16,  · The cassette hub uses a “freehub” sytem, which is a type of clutch mounted to the body of the hub. This cylindrical mechanism ratchets counter-clockwise for coasting, and locks clockwise for driving the bike when pedaled. The freehub body has a series of splines on the outer shell. “Cassette” sprockets slide over these splines.
  6. The smaller the difference between the highest and lowest number of teeth, the smaller the jump between gears; facilitating a smoother gear change. However, having closer-geared sprockets will normally decrease the size of the largest sprocket on the cassette, leaving you with a gear ratio that may be less suited to climbing and tough terrain.
  7. Use the chain whip to prevent the cassette from spinning while removing the cassette lock ring. Remove the cassette cluster. If switching to anything other than an speed cassette, install the mm spacer included with the KICKR. 11 speed cassettes (including the one pre-installed on the KICKR) do not require a mm spacer.
  8. Audio compact cassettes use magnetic tape of three major types which differ in fundamental magnetic properties, the level of bias applied during recording, and the optimal time constant of replay browabredockplicres.pacwhicompredowsitamimigermingzakh.coications of each type were set in by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). By this time, Type I (IEC I, 'ferric' or 'normal' tapes) included pure gamma ferric.
  9. You cannot replace a 9-speed cassette with a speed as the greater number of gears requires a different width chain. It’s also worth noting that while cassettes from two of the three major manufacturers (Shimano and SRAM) are interchangeable, cassettes from Italian maker Campagnolo are specific to Campagnolo drivetrains.
